Your Church Can Touch the World [Audio]
The first step for your local church to touch the world is to believe that it can. Faith is the key that unlocks all the blessings on God, including success in ministry.
God has a bigger vision for your church that you do! He sent Jesus to open the door to reach the nations through you! He has plans that are beyond your wildest dreams. Catch the vision of God in your spirit so that you can run with it. Isaiah 54 speaks to this vision. Your eyes may be upon your abilities, your budget, your past experiences, or the number of people that are setting in your sanctuary each Sunday morning. But God sees the potential that is there because of your relationship with Him.
“SING, O barren one, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child! For the <spiritual> children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married wife, says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, For you will spread abroad to the right hand and to the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.” Isaiah 54:1-3, Amplified.
In this podcast you will learn:
- The spiritual application of enlarging your tent.
- How small thinking throttles down your ability to reach others
- That your past is not an accurate representation of your future.
- How hearing God’s voice is essential to fulfilling your mission.
God has awesome things planned for you and your church. We are praying that you will fulfill your destiny and that your church will touch the world.
God bless you!
Sermon Notes: Your Church Can Touch the World
Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; (Isaiah 54:1-2, KJV).
lengthen—expansion of the Gospel (Mk. 16:15
strengthen—building up of the church (Eph 4:11-12)
MAIN THOUGHT: Get rid of small thinking and religioius [thinking which keeps you from flowing in God’s best as the body of Christ.
Things that keep us back: Religious tradition, Control Systems, Small thinking , Fear
THE LOCAL CHURCH is called to be a training center to terrorize the devil, a strategic war base to invade society, an operations center for world missions. Every church is called to be a missions organization to reach their area and to reach the world.
We must renew our minds, in order to fulfill our destiny as the people of God. As Christians, our main problem in many areas is that we are more religiously brainwashed than biblically taught. Let make up our mind to be biblically taught and receive the truth of God’s Word.
WE NEED A SPIRIT OF FAITH
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23, KJV).
For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37, KJV).
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Hebrews 4:2, KJV).
When God gives a vision, we must run with it. . .
And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (2 Chronicles 20:20, KJV).
We must believe not only the promises that are given us in the Bible, but also the promises given to us by the Spirit. God is speaking things for our church, but we must believe it, rather than looking to the natural sight. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) (2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV).
God says, take the limits off, expand your visionü. It’s time for:
- More instead of less.
- Stronger instead of weaker
- Expansion instead of contraction
- Advance instead of retreat
- Greater ministry, not less
- Greater influence, not less
The desolate have more children than the married wife. You may think that you’re marked by your past. . . you’re limited by your background. The devil may have you convinced that you’re a loser, a nobody. . . just passing time until you die. Rebuke those thoughts, away with that nonsense. God loves you. Jesus died for you. The Holy Spirit is in you. You are God’s anointed child. . . with the full potential to change the world.
GOD IS ALWAYS THINKING INCREASE
Did you ever notice that God always speaks either addition or multiplication to his people? Division and subtraction always pertains to judgment. God’s plan is to bless you and multiply you.
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. (Psalms 115:14, KSJV).
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33, KJV).
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) (2 Corinthians 9:10, KJV).
- glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18)
- faith to faith (Rom. 1:17)
- strength to strength (Ps. 84:7)
- NOT dump to dump
GOD WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU CAN SEE: SMALL VISION=SMALL CONQUEST
And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. (Genesis 13:14-17, KJV).
Do you see poverty and lack, defeat and discouragement, then that’s what you will have, in accordance with your expectation. If you see the possibilities of life lived for God, you will see dreams and visions for the future that will literally blow your mind, and those around you. These said of Jesus, this is Joseph’s son, he lives right here in our city. . . .
We need to stop planning with what we have and start planning with what God has. . . . If you SEE a small church, that’s what you will have, but if youÏ SEE an expanding ministry, mightily impacting the community, the area, and the world, then that’s what you will have. What you see is what you get!
God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. (Genesis 9:27, KJV).
Japheth means “opened” or “the extender.” Open your’ eyes to the possibilities in your life and in your church. “Extend your vision to include more and greater things. God will increase you more and more.
THE SPIRIT OF CONQUEST
“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30, KJV.
If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. (Numbers 14:8, KJV).
But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. (Numbers 14:21, KJV).
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Hebrews 4:2, KJV.
He brought them into the Promised Land through Joshua…
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. (Joshua 1:3, KJV).
“Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.” Joshua 13:1, KJV.
Give me my mountain…
“Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.” Joshua 14:12, KJV.
You’ve got ot put your vision into ACTION. You will never enter your promised land without stepping out in faith.
YOU’VE GOT TO PUT YOUR FEET IN THE WATER AND GO
And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God. And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Periœzzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan. Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man. And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap. And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people; And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very f›ar from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan. (Joshua 3:9-17, KJV).
