Working Together: Believers School, & Next Generation Conference
By Tom Shanklin
I’m still on-fire from Our Mission to Benin in February! It was a great experience and I’ve been sharing about it with churches and individuals as God gives me the opportunity. We’ve also received reports from Benin that people are coming into the churches as a result of our ministry.
One of the things that was impressed upon my heart through this trip is the value of teamwork. When we work together, we win. When we pull apart, we lose. And not only that, the world loses. It’s through our unity that we can reach the world for Jesus Christ. That is why I am so blessed by our fellowship with you, and how we are working together to reach the world for Jesus Christ.
Mankato Believers School of Ministry
In March, we finished our Believers School of Ministry Classes here in Mankato. We have had tremendously encouraging testimonies from the participants of the class. They’ve been reaching out and sharing their faith and I believe that the momentum is not going to stop anytime soon. Even Susan and I have been more fired up to share our faith and have been released from fear and intimidation in a greater way.
I would encourage everyone to have these classes in your church and community, or something like them. We emphasize the basics of the faith, witnessing, flowing with the Holy Spirit and ministering to the sick and oppressed. God has used it to light a fire under all of us.
Next Generation Conference
I’m very excited about the Next Generations Conference coming up on April 27-28 in Gary, Minnesota.
The Church in America has been losing the battle for the hearts and minds of our young people. As a result, many churches are dying. It’s time to seek the Lord for strategies to reach and retain our young people, and to co-labor with them for the glory of God. I believe that this conference will help turn the tide, so we can see the generations reconnect and work together for the glory of God. Click here for more information on the Next Generations Conference.
Please pray for this meeting and all that we are doing here at Tom Shanklin Ministries. Your partnership is like rocket fuel for this ministry. Susan and I love and appreciate you and pray for you every day!
Letters from Our Friends
Uses Newsletter in Weekly Bible Study
We have a weekly Bible Study that I write lesson plans for. Your newsletters have inspired messages that have helped me do this. Our group of seven looks forward to receiving Healing for the Nations. We are of different denominations, but one in Christ. After reading their newsletter, I hope everyone shares it with someone else. It may seem a little thing to do, but from experience, I know it can bless someone. Like tossing a stone in a lake, you’ll never know how far the ripples will go. There is no small thing to do for God, even sharing a great newsletter. (Carol Kaufman, LeSueur, MN)
Blessed at Businessmens Fellowship
Dear Brother Tom, We were blessed with your presence—the two of you—at the December meeting! It was with the presence of the Spirit of God. The Lord will open more doors to you, as you hear from Him directly most of all. Also from others. Trust the Lord for the finances to do what He directs you to do, and it will be there (Peter Wiering, Businessmens Fellowship, Minneapolis, MN)
