What’s Holding You Back?

And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. (Luke 13:12, AV)
What is holding you back from God’s best in your life?
Maybe it is a sickness that is keeping you back from fulfilling your dreams, like the woman who Jesus spoke to that day.
Maybe it is fear, intimidation, or a deep-seated insecurity that you have carried for a lifetime.
Maybe it is an addictive habit, condemnation over past failures, a devastating hurt, or a spirit of poverty. Whatever it is, it is from the devil. Satan wants you bound and defeated, but today, Jesus is calling you to Himself and saying, “You are loosed from your infirmity.”
If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are a child of God, and the words which Jesus spoke to this woman apply to you today. You are loosed from your infirmity!
When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He died to take care of your sin problem and He rose from the dead to take care of your devil problem. He gave you life and defeated the devil once and for all. The work is finished! He purchased your freedom. What’s holding you back? I declare unto you that you are loosed, in Jesus’ name.
When the religious leaders criticized the healing of this woman on the Sabbath day, Jesus said, “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? (Luke 13:16, AV)
Jesus said that she ought to be healed! How much more should you and I be healed? We are not only children of Abraham, but we are the children of God. Not only that, but we are in an unbreakable covenant with God by the blood of the cross. Man, woman, boy, or girl, you are loosed from your infirmity!
God has done His part, now our part is to believe the truth of God’s Word and speak it out. All His promises are “Yea and Amen,” but we must believe the promises so that they can be activated. His Word contains our inheritance. It is Jesus’ last will and testament. Now, we must receive the inheritance.
Take the authority that God has given you. Speak the Word that God has spoken. Because of what Jesus has done, you have a right to be well, to have peace, to have power, love, and a sound mind. Yes, declare it right now, “I am loosed, in Jesus’ name.
After Jesus had spoken the word of freedom over the woman, He then laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight. I tell you, Jesus wants to straighten you out! He wants to heal your body, straighten out your thinking, and deliver you from sin, guilt, and condemnation.
What’s holding you back from God’s best in your life? Just lift your hands right now and praise Him. “Thank you, Lord, I am free, in Jesus’ mighty name.”
