Update: Preaching the Gospel Makes Me Happy!

Prayer time at Bible Study in Mahnomen, Minnesota.
Dear Friends,
I have been enjoying more travel and ministry. At the end of April, I visited Good News Fellowship Church in Gary. The church includes some of the people from the first church we pastored in nearby Twin Valley, Minnesota, back in the early ‘80s. On Sunday, I spoke on the radio, via Facebook, during the Sunday worship service, and at an evening outreach with a singing group called Kinfolk Worship.
The focus of my preaching was on the ministry of the Holy Spirit in salvation, wisdom, power, and fellowship with God.
On Monday night, I traveled to Mahnomen for a Bible Study at Dave and Lois Oakland’s home. They have been ministering to a group of young people (at least young to me) who are coming to the Lord and finding freedom in Christ. People have been born again, delivered from addictions, and set on fire for God through weekly meetings at the Oakland’s house. I was asked to speak on leadership in the home. I gave a balanced message on the subject, and it was well received.
On Wednesday morning, I was blessed to share the Good News at a Bible Study at the Christian Lending Library in Bagley, Minnesota. I spoke about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the aid of the Holy Spirit in reaching people for Christ.
In May, I returned to Living Waters Community Church in Clear Lake, Minnesota, a church where I have ministered previously, filling the pulpit while the church was without a pastor. The church has a new couple leading it, Pastor Gary and Ruth Gnirk, and I was blessed to be invited to minister once again. They were very gracious and welcoming and gave me one of the nicest introductions I have ever received. Having researched our ministry on the web, they shared with the people our vision and history. I again spoke on the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which fit right in with the vision that Pastor Gary is casting for the church, based on Isaiah 55:
Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1, MEV).
Jesus is the one who provides Living Waters to those who are thirsty!
Susan and I also traveled to Avoca, Minnesota, to minister for Pastor John and Terry Stenen while they were on an anniversary fishing trip. It was an honor to fill in for these faithful servants of God who have labored in Avoca since 1982. I spoke on “Jesus Sets the Captives Free.” It always makes me happy to preach the Good News.
Good News for Benin
I am pleased to share with you that the remaining $4,350 was received in May for the targeted budget for the classroom addition for the Bible School and Vocational School in Benin. As it turns out, however, prices of materials have increased since the original bids, and an additional estimated $2,000 is needed to complete the project in full. Thanks to everyone who has participated in this project. The cement roof deck has now been completed. Next will be windows, doors, electrical, and plastering. We are looking forward to seeing the project completed! Click here to learn more or contribute>>>
Follow Up Book
I have been working on a follow-up book on the basics of the Christian life. The working title is “Following Jesus: First Steps for Christians.” This book is a tool we would like to give to people who receive Jesus in our meetings, but it also will be an excellent resource for all believers. Please pray for this project!
Thank you!
Thank you for all your encouragement and prayers. You are very close to our hearts as we pray for you each day.
Let’s keep going forward!
Tom
