United Methodist Church, Litchfield, MN
Today Susan and I traveled to Litchfield, where I minstered at the United Methodist Church. I was filling in for Pastor Bill Kerr, who was away on vacation.
It was missions Sunday, so I shared some about our missions work, particularly among the native American people. A missions team from the church just left this morning for a mission trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
The Sermon was called “Your Mission.” I spoke from Luke 19:1-10 about Zacchaeus, and Jesus’ mission in life, which was to “seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10) I said that Jesus’ mission is now our mission, and we must take the Gospel to a lost and dying world.
I also spoke on repentance and making Jesus LORD of your life. About five people raised their hands to indicate they wanted to repent and make Jesus the Lord of their lives. I then led the entire congregation in a confession of faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
We thank God for the open doors that God has given us to preach His wonderful message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
