“…but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone!” Luke 2.10 Living Bible
What could be greater than the happy Good News that a Savior is born in Bethlehem?
You could have all your debts forgiven, be given a new Ferrari and marry the girl of your dreams all in one day, and it still would not match the glorious news that Jesus is born of a virgin in Bethlehem.
Without the birth of the “pure, spotless Lamb,” there could be no sacrifice on the cross. And without the cross there could be no resurrection. And without the resurrection, there could be no redemption. We would still be in our sins and lost and without God in this world. No wonder the angels were happy. The desire of the ages had come—forgiveness, healing, deliverance, a bright future—and it’s for everyone!
Glory to God in the highest! Peace on earth! Good will toward men!

Notes: The Most Joyful News Ever Announced!
“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:1-14, KJV.

MAIN THOUGHT: God sent his Son to change everything. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, went to the cross in substitution for our sins, rose again to give us new life, ascended to heaven at the right hand of God, and is coming again to give us new bodies and a renewed earth to live in. Is He YOUR Savior?

- GOD SENDS HIS SON TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS
“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20, 21, KJV.
Have you thought about what a great gift forgiveness is? When you repent, He removes your transgressions as far as the east is from the west. He is YOUR Savior…from YOUR sins.
2. BY RECEIVING JESUS, YOU BECOME A BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13, KJV.
Like Mary, who received the Word of God and said, “Be it unto me according to thy Word,” when we repent and believe God’s word of salvation, the Holy Spirt will come upon us and the power of the highest will overshadow us, and the Holy thing within us will be called the Son of God. Christ in us the hope of glory. (Luke 1:26-38)
3. JESUS COMES TO REDEEM AND DELIVER US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:13, KJV. (1John 3:8, John 10:10, Luke 10:19)
We were slaves to sin and Satan, but those chains are broken now. Jesus defeated the devil and stripped him of his power through his death burial and resurrection.
4. JESUS GIVES US POWER THROUGH THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:11, 12, KJV.
Thank God for the anointing of power. We are no longer powerless. The door is open for us to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and all the gifts.
5. THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT: JESUS WILL LEAD US TO OUR HEAVENLY HOME
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:1-6, KJV.
We will be with him through out eternity. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
6. JESUS WILL GIVE US AN IMMORTAL BODY
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-57, KJV.
We will, praise God, have a body like Jesus. He redeems our body.
7. JESUS WILL PROVIDE A NEW HEAVEN & A NEW EARTH FOR US
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” Revelation 21:1-6, KJV.
Jesus came to restore everything that was lost in the fall. Even to redeem the creation.
CONCLUSION:
Jesus is the greatest news every announced, and it’s for everyone. Receive the gift of salvation and all that He has for your today.
