The Miracle Continues in Benin
As you can see from the photo above, the second building at the Mt. Moriah Bible School in Benin is moving right along. As I shared with you last month, our friend in Benin, Apostle Isaac Clossou, put his faith to work for this building, which will house classrooms, a kitchen, and a dining room.
Rev. Clossou’s vision for raising up ministers for rural Benin includes the construction of three buildings for the Bible School in a very rural village. Tom Shanklin Ministries, with the help of our partners, helped him to drill a well and build the first building, which is being used as a dormitory. This was completed in November of 2021. Late last year, Rev. Clossou decided to put his faith into action for the second building. He received a $3,000 offering from his church in Benin, purchased sand and cement, and workers started making concrete blocks.
I offhandedly told a farmer friend about the new project, and he and His wife were inspired to donate the entire anticipated cost of the second building, which is now going up like gangbusters. It just goes to show you, if God has put something in your heart, put your faith into action and see what God will do.
It reminds me of years ago when we had just gone into the ministry and had almost no income. We were heating our house with wood, winter was approaching, and we had no wood. So, I went out to a farmer’s woods and with permission began to cut firewood. Soon the farmer and his son joined me and started their chainsaws. By the end of that day, a huge grain truck full of firewood was dumped on my front lawn. Get busy! Get started! And watch what the Lord will do in your life!

God’s Word Will Not Return Void
I ministered at For His Glory Church in Spring Grove, Minnesota in January. This is a church that was under our ministry for many years but became independent in 2021. It was good to reconnect and see some old and new friends. I preached on the mercy of God and it was well received.
Susan and I visited Prairie Faith Church in Glenfield, North Dakota. This is a church of strong believers who are working hard to see the Gospel continue in their area. It is great to see children, teens, and adults of all ages as members of this thriving congregation. It’s been over a year since we visited Prairie Faith, but they opened their hearts to us and the Word of God which we brought. On Sunday morning, Susan brought a specifically-tailored word of encouragement called, “It’s Going to Be Okay!” Many testified that the message was just what they needed.
On Sunday night, I taught on “We Need the Holy Spirit,” taking my theme from Zechariah 4:6, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, sayeth the Lord.” Just as those rebuilding the temple needed the power of God’s Spirit, we also need the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish anything worthwhile for the Kingdom of God.
In February and March, I will be teaching a series on “Moving in the Gifts of the Spirit” from 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 in two home groups near where we live north of the Twin Cities. There are some very hungry people here who want to see God move, so I am excited to see what God will do in these meetings. Please pray!
Thank you for partnering with us in this ministry, whether it be through your prayers, financial support, or encouragement. Through our direct ministry and our partnerships around the world, we are fulfilling the Great Commission by encouraging believers, strengthening churches, and reaching the lost. By teaming up, we can accomplish so much more than alone.
Susan and I are continually praying for you, that every desire of your heart will be fulfilled as you go forward in God’s good plan for your life.
