Ministry Update: Seizing the Opportunities
We are encouraged about the things that God has been doing through this ministry. Through the pandemic, he has opened our eyes to new avenues of ministry and new ways of thinking about reaching people with the Gospel. Now, as we are beginning to travel once again, we feel like a bird out of a cage ready to seize the opportunities of this new season.
In late February, I was at For His Glory Church in Spring Grove, Minnesota. This is a church which has been operating under our ministry for over 15 years. I have been providing leadership for them and preaching about once a month since that time. The church has been a great blessing to Susan and me and really helped us to get this ministry off the ground and running.
Last year, I told the congregation that I felt it was time for a change and they should move towards them becoming an independent church. I also felt that my work there as their leader was finished. Shortly after that, I was talking with Pastor Dave Weigel of Elk River, Minnesota. By divine timing, I believe, Dave was stepping down from his role as senior pastor of Living Waters Church in Elk River and was feeling led to work with small churches and home churches.
So, to make a long story short, Dave and his wife Susie will be helping the church in Spring Grove to go forward. I am excited about this change. Dave and Susie first heard the Gospel in Spring Grove in the 70s and they have a long-term connection with the people of the area. At the meeting in February, we had a time of prayer for them, and the congregation prayed for me and released me to the new things that God has for my life. I believe that this change was ordained by God and will bring a greater release to For His Glory Church, and allow me to be more focused on evangelistic ministry.
Benin Bible School Update
As I mentioned last month, the cement roof is now completed for the dormitory we are helping to construct in Benin, West Africa. In March, we were able to send funds from designated offerings, which is now being used to install plumbing in preparation for pouring the cement floor on the main level. Praise God! If you would like to help this project continue to go forward, you can make a donation here.
Pending travel restrictions and advisories, Susan and I plan to visit Benin in November of this year for evangelistic outreaches and also to dedicate the dormitory and participate in a graduation ceremony. As I have mentioned before, Benin is the least evangelized non-Muslim nation in all of Africa. There is much work to do and the fields are white unto harvest. Please pray with us concerning this missions trip.
I would also like to ask for prayers for new open doors. I am sensing God’s direction to go into new territory for the Gospel, both in the US and internationally. I believe we will need to pray in agreement with the Holy Spirit to see these doors open so that we can go into new areas to preach the Gospel and encourage Christians in their personal mission to reach those around them. It’s a new season and we will reach new people in new ways.
Susan and I are so thankful for your participation in this ministry, whether it be in prayer, mutual encouragement, or financial support. It’s great to be a part of a team of people who love Jesus and want to share Him with the world. Please let us know any needs you have in prayer. We are standing with you for great and mighty things!
