Mankato Believers School of Ministry Class 2018

Tom and Susan,

I wanted to share some of the exciting things that have just begun happening since I took part in the Believer’s School of Ministry.  I took part in the class because, even though we know what God’s word says, it isn’t always so easy to physically put it into practice.  I wanted to have a better understanding of how to do that.  I took the class a few months ago, but I still carry the workbook around in my car, in my computer bag, and into and out of home and church depending on what happens to be going on in my life at any given time.  I have used it to share God and to teach others.  I find myself spending a lot of my lunchbreaks still reading and re-studying the verses, testimonies, and notes that you included in the workbook.

I have never doubted that the Word of God is true.  I have prayed for many people before I ever attended the class and saw little results.  I have prayed for several people even in the last few months since attending the class and still had not seen much physically happen, but yet I still believe, and keep studying.  There was so much good information shared in class, but I remember you saying that tongues are one of the main sources of getting God’s power into our life.  You shared testimonies about how people started spending hours speaking in tongues and how God started showing up in things around them.  Your class gave the courage to use my gift of tongues.  I thought the words didn’t sound right, or that I didn’t have enough words.  It seemed like I was always repeating myself, but I started speaking what God had given me anyway.  Perhaps the Holy Spirit just simply had something very specific that I was praying for.  Either way I started praising God and praying in tongues to and from work, to and from class, and now find myself praying in tongues just about any time of day whenever I have few minutes or even a few seconds.

AND then…  just a few weeks ago I said a simple prayer for a young gentlemen that had an ear infection that was also causing a sore throat.  I laid hands on him and prayed.  The anointing of the Holy Spirit came on so very strong and his ear got hot.  He even ran over to a friend of his to show him.  Needless to say the pain left and has never been back.

The next day, I prayed for a friend of mine that had hurt her back.  Her husband had to help her get out of bed.  She hurt to the point that she couldn’t stand up straight and could barely walk.  I laid hands on her and prayed once.  Nothing happened.  I prayed a second time, and no change.  I prayed a third time.  For a second or two, nothing, but then after a few seconds she straightened up and then bent down a touched the floor.  Then, just to prove it to herself, she ran up and down the stairs.  Not every drop of pain left that very second, but over the next couple of days she was completely restored.

It’s like all of a sudden the door is now open, and I could share so many more things that have happened just in the last few weeks.  It is simply amazing!  It seems like God’s power just has to have an open channel through us.  That channel gets turned on when we ask, as we praise, and when we give the Holy Spirit the opportunity to work in us and through us.  We just have to be patient, willing, and to expect that what God says will be the true whether we see it right away or not.
