It’s Due Time to Pray for America!

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,” (1Timothy 2:1-6, NKJV
This is a portion of scripture that I have prayed many times. It seems appropriate to encourage you to pray this also as we are about to have a major national election in the United States. It’s time to pray for America!
Since I am writing this before the election, I do not know what the outcome will be, but one thing is certain, someone is not going to be happy. I believe that it is time to bathe our nation, and our capital, and the streets of our cities and towns with prayer. We need to pray for ALL PEOPLE, not only those who look and think like us. And we need to pray for those who are in authority, WHOEVER THEY ARE, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness. Pray for America and its leaders!
God wants ALL PEOPLE to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. That is the most important thing! My prayer is that after this election, whatever the outcome, we will have an environment conducive to the preaching of the Gospel, because there is only one Mediator and only one hope for the world, Jesus Christ. Our job is to testify about HIM in due time, and it is DUE TIME to get the Gospel out to the people of the world. Pray for laborers for the harvest and that we will be effective and sharing God’s message with a lost and dying world.
