On Pentecost Sunday, which this year coincided with the Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, I spoke at a new church for me, Living Waters Community Church in Clear Lake, Minnesota.

What a privilege it was to enjoy the fellowship and minister amongst this group of hungry, zealous, Spirit-filled Christians! We had a wonderful time celebrating the joy of Pentecost. I spoke on the promise, the power, and the purpose of Pentecost. A pastor friend said to me, “Every Sunday should be Pentecost Sunday.” I agree. But as he also said, “Too often, there is an altar, but there is no fire.”

May blazing tongues of fire burn in our churches, and may the world be reached with the Gospel as we move out in the power of the Spirit of God in this hour!

A Time to Draw on the Power of God

For Tom and Susan, this is a time and a season for us to draw on the power of the Lord and receive His strength. On May 23, the day before our 53rd wedding anniversary, Susan had knee replacement surgery. It had become very difficult for her to walk, as all the cartilage was gone in her left knee and the joint was bone-on-bone and out of alignment.

We are thankful both for the medical personnel and for the Lord’s guidance and strength through this trial. She is now recuperating and doing the exercises which are necessary for full recovery. She is looking forward to being restored to mobility so she can play with her grandkids, garden, and reach the world for Jesus. She has a vision of herself walking through an airport on the way to the mission field and looking back at me and saying, “Hurry up, Tom!”
