Partner Update: Starkweather Evangelism Seminar
Dear Partner,
It’s called Starkweather because they have “stark weather” in North Dakota near the Canadian border. Despite the cold, however, there are warm hearts in this community and the surrounding area.
Pastor Rob Buechler began his tenure at Trinity Bergen Lutheran Church 30 years ago. A year later, he married Debbie and they have been loving people and preaching the Gospel ever since. Pastor Rob’s ministry was transformed in 2008 when he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This enabled him to hear the voice of God more clearly and led him into a ministry of healing and deliverance. As a result, revival came to Trinity Bergen, and the church has become a regional ministry. Monthly healing services are held at the church and many people from North Dakota have been born again, healed, and delivered. You can find more information at the Trinity Bergen Lutheran Church Facebook Page.
I have been traveling to Starkweather for about 10 years holding Believers School of Ministry Classes, revival services, and healing services. This year Pastor Rob asked me to hold an evangelism seminar, which I was happy to do. In five services I taught on God Uses Ordinary People, The Power of Prayer, The Power of the Holy Spirit, The Power of Your Witness, and The Power of the Gospel.
The main thought that came through all the teaching is that evangelism is based more on your own personal relationship with the Lord than any particular formula or method for evangelism. When our own hearts are full of the warmth of the love of God, we have something irresistible that will attract people to Jesus. Your part may be showing kindness, sharing your personal story, sowing a seed of the Gospel, watering the seed, or harvesting, but you can reach people for Jesus through your life and the words that you speak.
The seminar was a wonderful success, and we are trusting that eternal fruit will come out of it. Besides the people who attended from Trinity Bergen and from other area churches (some of whom drove for hours in the dark to attend) we had 2,772 views on Facebook from all around the world.
Benin Update
Last month, an additional $800 come in for the special offering for the classroom addition for the vocational school being construction by the Messenger Gospel Church of God in Benin. That means approximately $9,645 remains to complete the project. If you would like to invest in this worthy project, you can learn more and make a donation here.>>>
Thank you!
Susan and I are thankful and amazed by your partnership with us in this ministry. With the Lord Himself being the third part of the three-fold cord, you and He and us are a powerful team! We continue to pray for you daily, and we ask for your prayers as well—for our health, for wisdom in life and ministry, for our family, and for more open doors to continue to proclaim the Good News of the wonderful grace of God.
Be blessed!
Tom
