Partner Update: Building on a Solid Foundation
Dear Partner,
I had some good meetings in the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota area, early in August.
I was with Pastors David and Dori Bakke at the Father’s House in Pine Point, Minnesota, on the White Earth Reservation for a Summer Festival Under the Tent with Peaches the Clown, a puppet show, and burger and brats. I spoke to a group of youngsters and some adults and prayed with the kids for needs in their lives, including family and health issues.
I also shared a short message about the need for a solid foundation in our Christian lives, including repentance, water baptism, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was excited to hear that on the last Sunday of August, Pastor David baptized about a dozen young people in Big Rush Lake on the White Earth Reservation. What a blessing!
I also spoke at the Worship Barn in rural Detroit Lakes, which is led by Pastor Matt and Kayla Bernier, where I taught about the benefits of the Holy Spirit from John 14, encouraging the people to yield to the Holy Spirit.
It was great also to return to The Jehovah House with Wayne and Linda Augustin in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, for two nights, where I spoke on “Jesus Did It All” from Galatians 3:13-14 and shared a message on “Miracles.” God’s Word never fails!
Even in the middle of the night, God’s Word never fails! At 12:30 a.m. here and 11 a.m there, I ministered at Living Word Community Church in Sucunderabad, India by Skype. I shared a message called “Finding the Purpose for Your Church” based on the story of the church at Ephesus from Acts 19. It’s amazing that we can now have an impact on the other side of the world through the internet. You can listen to the message with Telugu translation here>>>
Report from Benin
I visited with Apostle Issac Clossou of The Messenger Gospel Church of God in Benin by WhatsApp video chat. This is one of the ministries that we help to support. God has used Tom Shanklin Ministries as a channel to provide a water well and two buildings—a dormitory and a combination classroom and dining room) on a rural property. These buildings now house both a Bible School and a Vocational School.
Besides the two schools, the property serves as a retreat center for a monthly prayer meeting and for regional ministers conferences. The ministry recently held a conference on the property for 120 ministers from Benin and surrounding nations, where they taught about flowing in the anointing, the family life of a minister, and the need for relationships and mentors. At the beginning of each month, they hold a prayer meeting on the property where people come to the Lord and find deliverance and healing. Recently, I saw a video of a Muslim woman who received Christ and began to dance before the Lord at the prayer meeting. There is also a local church which meets on the property.
The ministry in Benin is looking to expand the Vocational School for the next school year and needs more classroom space. They have started construction on a second floor on the latest building (classroom and dining). They have invested $6,000 and need approximately $14,500 to finish the second-floor addition. If you would like to invest in the building expansion, 100 percent of your designated offering will go to Benin. You can make an online donation here>>>
