Nothing is Impossible with God
By Tom Shanklin
“For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37, MEV)
I want to encourage you today. Nothing is impossible with God!
You may be going through the darkest hour of your life, but just remember, nothing is impossible with God.
Maybe the sun has gone down on your future and looks like it will never come up. Remember, nothing is impossible with God.
Your bank account may be empty, and your best friend may have left you. But don’t forget, nothing is impossible with God.
There is no valley too deep, no mountain too high, no river too wide for God to meet you where you are. Just remember, nothing is impossible with God.
A friend had been praying for a new job for years. The job he had paid well, but the commute was 1 1/2 hours each way, and his employer was very demanding. He was beseeching God for a new job, but nothing came. Then, in the midst of the pandemic, with the unemployment rate at 14.7 percent, God gave our friend a new job. It pays better, and now he works from home.
God can feed you in the midst of a famine. He can protect you in the midst of a storm. He can break you out of prison and give you a new beginning. That is my God. Nothing is impossible with Him.
I have seen it with my own eyes over and over again.
A girl in a meeting in a nation in Asia with a large tumor in her stomach went home with no tumor and remains healed today.
In a church western Minnesota, we prayed for a couple who had experienced a miscarriage and were having problems bearing children. Nine months later, they had a beautiful baby boy.
A woman in her 80s with severe hip pain was totally and instantly healed by the power of God.
A 27-year-old man who had been bound with drugs and alcohol was totally set free, filled with the Holy Spirit, and has gone all around the world preaching the Gospel. (That would be me!)
Praise God! Our God is a miracle worker. And nothing is impossible with Him.
Jeremiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said it this way: “Ah Lord GOD! Truly, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for You.” (Jeremiah 32:17, MEV)
It makes sense. He created everything. Anything else is easy for Him.
A man came to Jesus looking for deliverance for his son. He said to Jesus, “… if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” (Mark 9:22, MEV)
Jesus replied, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23, MEV)
All things are possible. All things are possible. Only believe!
The angel came to a virgin named Mary and told her she would bear a son named Jesus, and of his Kingdom there would be no end. The Scriptures tell us, “Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34, MEV)
How can this be? How can this be? I’ve never been with a man. How can this be?
You might ask the same question. How can this be? How shall my body be healed? How shall I overcome this financial hurdle? How shall this relationship be restored? How shall I overcome this addiction? How can this be?
“The angel answered her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore the Holy One who will be born will be called the Son of God. Listen, your cousin Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age. And this is the sixth month with her who was declared barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.’” (Luke 1:35-37, MEV)
What was the angel’s answer? What was going to bring this great miracle into her life? “The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you.” What is going to change your life? How are you going to receive that miracle that you need? “The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you!”
I want to encourage you: welcome the Holy Spirit into your life. He will help you, strengthen you, encourage you. He will give you power to pray. Power to overcome. His glory will overcome every obstacle. Nothing is impossible with God! But how? By the Holy Spirit.
Mary could not understand what was happening. She just knew that she had a divine encounter. “Mary said, ‘I am the servant of the Lord. May it be unto me according to your word.’ Then the angel departed from her.” (Luke 1:38, MEV) Or as the King James says, “Be it unto me according to your word.”
We could say that Mary was the first person to receive Jesus. She received Him physically into her body and fulfilled the prophecy, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: The virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14, MEV)
When we receive Jesus, He comes into our hearts by the Holy Spirit fulfilling the scripture, “Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name,” (John 1:12, MEV) Like Mary, we need to yield ourselves to God and believe the promise of His Word.
Put yourself into agreement with His Word. Accept what He says, not what the circumstances say. Agree with His plan for your life.
Stop believing that there is no hope for you. Stop speaking words of hopelessness that come from the pit of hell. Agree with God. “Be it unto me according to thy word.” Remember, nothing is impossible with God. Let Him have His way in your life and expect a miracle in Jesus’ name.
If you have never received Jesus as your Lord, pray this prayer from your heart:
Dear Father, thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sins. I believe that you raised Him from the dead. I turn away from sin and confess that Jesus is Lord of my life. Thank you for forgiving me and making me a child of God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
