Nation-Changing Ministry Thriving in Benin
The Mt. Moriah Bible School and the Vocational and Technical High School in the village of Danzounmey in southern Benin, West Africa. are thriving. The vision for the schools is to transform the community and the nation by building character, job skills, and Bible knowledge in the students.
Tom Shanklin Ministries is partnering with Messenger Church of God in Benin to see the fulfillment of this vision.
The vocational school includes courses in sewing, electrical, and civil engineering. The vocational school students also have chapel each day and Sunday. Two of them have given their lives to Christ and are in discipleship classes.
The Bible School students are taking discipleship classes, hermeneutics, evangelism, pastoral ministry, Christology, redemption, and rural ministry. The course also includes the practical application of their studies by helping a local church pastor and evangelizing. The Bible School is a part of the internationally focused Vision University based in Ramona, California, USA.
There are 11 Bible School students and 18 vocational students. A total of 15 students are living on the remote property at Danzounmey. The expense for the teachers so far has been covered by the school fees from some of the students who were able to pay and other donations.
The great need at this time is food for the 15 residential students. According to Rev. Isaac Clossou, most of the students come from very poor families who cannot afford to support them with food. Some are orphans or street boys.
The minimum cost for food is $2.00 per student per day for a total of $30 a day or $900 per month. Our ministry has been helping with this need, and the ministry in Benin is raising about $100 a month from the local church in Benin. Click below to find out more and give to The Benin Vision.
