Ministry Update: Preaching Everywhere!
Dear Partners,
Then they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. (Mark 16:20, MEV)
The definition of “preached everywhere” has now expanded to include Blogs, Podcasts, YouTube, Zoom, Instagram, and even TicTok. It no doubt will expand further in the days to come.
Last month, we expanded our outreach to include a Zoom meeting with missionaries and ministers that we work with around the world. It was awesome for Susan and me to sit in our home in Mankato, Minnesota, and encourage and pray with ministers from Africa, Asia, and the North America. I shared a teaching on “Working Together in Ministry,” which we then discussed. We also had a time of prayer for one another and for the nations.
I also had the great opportunity to share on world missions with a group of students from the Mankato Homeschool Connections, which meets weekly in St. Peter, Minnesota. These hungry hearts delighted in the stories and pictures from our mission trips around the world. We also were able to connect by Zoom with Pastor Stan Strunc, missionary to Europe, who shared about his ministry and prayed with the students.
Stan Strunc of In His Love Ministries is “preaching everywhere” to Czech-language-speaking people in many countries of Europe using YouTube and Zoom. His preaching is also being devoured by people using the Slavic language, which is very closely related to Czech. His YouTube channel has exploded with interest from people of these nations, who eagerly consume his in-depth Bible teachings. There is a great hunger in these places, but with the Pandemic still raging in Europe, many are turning to the internet to receive the Word of God.
I had two great meetings at the Jehovah House Retreat Center in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. On a Friday night, we had a healing service. I spoke on “Healing in the Presence of the Lord.” The Lord’s emphasis during this meeting was on emotional healing. Many testified that they were deeply touched and refreshed. The meeting was like a soaking rain on parched ground. On Saturday morning, we had a session from our Believers School of Ministry on “The Gospel and the Supernatural,” emphasizing the power of miracles to bring people to Christ.
Then on Saturday night, I traveled to Good News Fellowship Church in Gary, Minnesota, a church with people from the days when our ministry began in that area in 1983. It was great to reconnect with the church since I had not been there since December of 2019 due to the Pandemic. On Saturday night, I preached an uncharacteristically loud and passionate message on the power of the Holy Spirit. I sense things are changing in our ministry. The time is short, and we must be passionate and wake up to the intensity of the season we are in. On Sunday morning, I shared a video from our trip to Europe. I was touched very deeply as I once again saw the faces of people in the Gospel-needy lands of Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. I then taught on cultivating the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Issac Clossou of Benin, West Africa, reports that the Bible School dormitory we are helping to build is progressing well. The rough-in for the plumbing and electrical is completed, and the cement floor has been poured. We have also been able to send additional funds from designated offerings, which they plan to use to purchase windows and doors for part of the building. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this project, which will facilitate the training of Bible School students to serve in ministry in rural Benin. If you would like to give a special offering for the Bible School, you can use the enclosed reply form.
We are so thankful for your partnership in prayer, finances, and encouragement which help us as we are “preaching everywhere!” As the scripture says, “And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:15) We know that we are sent by God Himself, but also by His people and partnering churches who support this work with Gospel seeds and monthly support. You are our fellow laborers in the Gospel! Susan and I pray for you continually! We are always excited to hear your praise reports and delighted to pray in agreement with you concerning your needs.
Great blessings!
Tom Shanklin
