Ministry Update: A December to Remember
December was a busy time of ministry and family get-togethers. Travel was difficult here in the upper Midwest as we experienced snow storms, icy roads, high winds, and -25° F temperatures. But hearts were warm and God Spirit moved in wonderful ways as we proclaimed the Gospel of the incarnate God born in Bethlehem.
My message everywhere I went this month was “The Invasion,” but each time, it came out differently. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6, 7, KJV.
God invaded the earth not with swords and spears or tanks and smart bombs. He sent His humble Son, born in a stable. He was born to be King and to rule in our hearts. From that counter intuitive invasion, the Kingdom of God has grown, like a small mustard seed, into a great and ever increasing plant. God takes the foolish things to confound the wise.
At Gaylord Assembly of God, I had a word of knowledge about someone with pain in their knee. Brian Spangler came forward with pain in his right knee from a football injury from over 20 years ago. He felt a great heat in his knee and was instantly healed.
At Trinity Fellowship in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Pastor John Kauffman received a healing of a stomach problem he had been experiencing for several weeks.
Another highlight of December was a great time celebrating Christmas in our three children’s homes with our precious grandchildren. Being with family is one of the great joys of life for Susan and me.
Looking Ahead
This is a time of year when we look back at the accomplishments of the past year and look forward to what God has for us in the days ahead. For me, it also means catching up on bookkeeping and preparing for our annual Board of Directors meeting. It’s an important time to reflect, evaluate and seek the Lord for HIS plan for the ministry. God has already been speaking to my heart about this coming year. I expect it to be a year of increase for the Kingdom of God and miracles and as I said, a year of Greater Glory.
Please continue to pray with us for our upcoming Mission to England in February. Plans are coming together for our ministry time there, and we are expecting God to move in unexpected ways, if that makes sense. We also believe that there will be doors opened for future ministry. Through one of our ministry friends in England, we have already received an invitation to minister in the Czech Republic. So we will see what develops in the plans of God for our ministry.
If you would like Susan and me to minister in your church or community this year, please let us know. We want to work with God’s people who have a vision to reach their area for Christ. Our ministry is most effective when we work with local churches which can preserve the harvest and nurture the seeds which we plant when we visit a community. Contact us to schedule something in your community.
I want to say “Thank you!” to all our financial and prayer partners and our supporting churches. You really make this ministry possible. As Susan and I pray for you day by day, we feel closer and closer to you. We suffer with you in your difficulties. We rejoice with you in your triumphs. You are our comrades-in-arms. Together, we are reaching the world for Jesus.
