Ministry Update: A Busy and Fruitful September & More to Come!
Dear Friend,
September was an incredibly busy and fruitful time! I visited the Minnesota State University at Mankato campus to participate in the Fall Campus and Community Fair and to reach out to students and to let them know about our Revival Meeting at the Hosanna Highland Campus and Community Church in Mankato coming up on Friday, October 14. What a blessing that turned out to be!
I was able to share the Gospel with a number of students, mostly international, and invite many to the meeting. A number also signed up to receive email updates from us. I shared with students from Nepal and Ethiopia, as well as Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Nigeria, and various other African nations. I found the international students especially open and courteous.
I witnessed to several non-Christian students (I like to call them pre-Christian). Using the “Steps to Peace with God” tract, I pointed to the illustrations to explain the Gospel message and to encourage them to receive Jesus as Lord. As I was leaving, a young Nepalese man helped me carry my supplies to the parking lot. I invited him to the meeting and shared the Gospel with him. He said he had never heard the Gospel explained. Then I asked him if he would like to pray and accept Jesus as His Lord and Savior. He said, “Yes!” And I led him in a prayer for salvation. What a joy!
Ministering at the Nursing Home
After the MSU event I was scheduled to preach at the Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. When I arrived, a Gospel song was playing and one of the residents was singing along. I got in the flow with her, and some others began singing as well. A spirit of joy pervaded the atmosphere.
I then led in singing some hymns with great Gospel content and shared a message from John 14.1-14 called “God Answers Prayer.” I had great liberty in preaching. The meeting seemed more like a revival meeting than a religious service at a nursing home. When I asked how many of the residents would like to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, the majority of them raised their hands. I led them in prayer of salvation, which they boldly followed with uplifted voices. We concluded the service by singing “Blessed Assurance.” What a great privilege to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ!
As I was greeting the residents after the service, a man told me with tears that he had suffered a stroke. After asking his permission, I laid hands on him and prayed in the name of Jesus that our God would heal him of the effects of the stroke, clean out his arteries and give him a good long healthy life. I cannot think of a better way to spend a day, than sharing Jesus with young and old in my own hometown. God is good!
Iowa, Here We Come!
Susan and I visited Full Gospel Revival Center in Kalona, Iowa, with Pastor Ron and Sue Breeze. We had a great time worshipping and fellowshipping there. Three people came forward to receive Jesus as Lord and we ministered to a number of people for physical and emotional healing. A trucker who came with serious pain in his arms testified that the pain completely left after prayer.
Preaching the Gospel in Starkweather, North Dakota
Once again, I visited the Trinity Bergen Lutheran Church in Starkweather, North Dakota, where we held a three-day Healing Revival with Pastor Rob and Debbie Buechler. While there, I prayed with over 20 people for either salvation or restoration of fellowship with the Lord. There were a number of evident physical healings as well as exceptional testimonies of emotional healing. Our service on the last night lasted over four hours and people were still hanging around after the service. That in itself is a sign and wonder. Also, I talked to several people who had been healed at our services last year at Starkweather who were still healed and pain free.
Ministering together with Pastor Rob Buechler was a great blessing. This man of faith is used in a great way in the healing ministry. Not only was the ground well prepared for planting the Gospel seed, but we were able to unite our faith in a strong way to see great results for the glory of God. Pastor Rob has written a recommendation for our ministry. I’ll share a portion of that here:
“We have had Pastor Tom come to our parish on different occasions, and the ministry done among us is of the highest biblical caliber. Further, the Lord confirms the preached word by many healings in the name of Jesus. We have witnessed people healed of arthritis, back pain, neuropathy, etc. What is more, the Lord has healed people emotionally, bringing many to recommit their lives to Jesus and serving Him. This ministry has been a blessing to many in the Body of Christ, from numerous denominations. I myself am a Lutheran pastor of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), and as we hold these meetings there are many people from Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Assembly of God, Mennonite, Methodist, and non-denominational backgrounds who come to receive the Word of God and get changed by the Holy Spirit. The Lord is using Tom’s ministry to further the revival of the Church.”
Women’s Conference in Hendricks
Susan ministered at a Women’s Conference sponsored by Faith Family Christian Center in Hendricks, Minnesota, which is led by Pastors Chris and Joyce Caugherty. Women from various churches as far away as Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and Brookings, South Dakota, came and had a great time in the Lord. Susan spoke on “You Need a Savior” and “The 10 Virgins” from Matthew 25 about the need to live full of the Word, the Holy Ghost, prayer, forgiveness, holiness, and love.
I hope you can come to our Revival Service on Friday, October 14, at 7 p.m., which will be held at the Hosanna Highland Campus and Community Church, 329 Ellis Ave. in Mankato. The church is tucked away on the north side of the Mankato State University campus, so allow a little extra time to find it. Free parking is available in MSU Lot # 18 on the west side of the church. The emphasis will be healing, forgiveness and divine purpose. We are expecting university students as well as people from the community and surrounding area to attend. Please pray for this exciting opportunity and attend if at all possible.
Susan and I are praying for you daily! You are in our hearts and we value you immensely. Wherever we go, you go with us in spirit and are a vital part of this ministry. Keep your lamp full of oil and burning!
