Ministering at the Sibley County Jail
Last week I had the opportunity to minister at the the Sibley County Jail in Gaylord. Four young men came out for the Bible Study. All four were incarcerated due to crimes related to drug or alcohol abuse. It’s not surprising, since about 85 percent of all prison inmates have a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
Like I told these young men, I could have ended up in jail also, due to the use of alcohol and drugs before Jesus delivered me.
I shared my testimony with them and the parable of the Prodigal Son, who wasted his living on “riotous living” (partying). I shared the Good News of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and talked to them about repentance, and how the Prodigal said, “I will arise and return to my Father. All four said they wanted to pray and receive Jesus as Lord of their lives, which they did.
This is a good ministry, for anyone who is looking for a way to serve the Lord. Visit those who are in jails and prison, show them the love of God, and give them the Gospel. You’ll be blessed!
