I want to share with you an exciting outreach we are planning in Detroit Lakes, MN, on Saturday and Sunday, August 14 and 15. The event will be held at the Detroit Lakes City Park Bandshell, Washington Park, 1355 Washington Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN. from 5 to 8 p.m. on both evenings.

The gathering is called “Love DL” and will feature a concert with singer-songwriter David Bakke, worship music with Katie Baker and area youth, real-life testimonies, and messages from me about God’s love. The goal is to share the love of Jesus with the people in Detroit Lakes and the surrounding area and people visiting from around the world.

David Bakke of Lake Park is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader who travels to churches and communities in Minnesota, the Dakota’s, and Ontario. With a blend of folk, rock, and blues, David delivers songs that honor God and encourage all people.

Local worship leader Katie Baker will lead a time of praise and worship along with area youth, and Tom Shanklin will present a message on the love of God. We welcome you to bring the whole family and enjoy an evening at the park. Come and receive prayer for your area, your family, and yourself.

The Time is Right!

I believe that the time is right for an evangelistic outreach in Detroit Lakes. The church has been crying out to God for revival and God is already moving powerfully. We want to work with Christians to proclaim the Good News and bring in a harvest of souls. This can happen as we work together!

Love DL Believers Rally

In preparation for the main event we are also planning a Believers Rally on Friday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m. at True Life Assembly of Detroit Lakes to worship, pray, ignite our passion for reaching people with the love of God, and organize workers for the outreach. There will be a free-will offering at the Believers Rally, to help cover the Love DL outreach expenses, for those who desire to contribute financially.

Here’s how you can help!

• Pray for many to come and know Jesus in a deeper way through Love DL!
• Bring your friends, neighbors, and relatives for a fun evening in the DL City Park.
• Volunteer to help on the prayer team, ushers team, or outreach team.
• Distribute flyers. Please let us know how many flyers you can use.
• Attend the Believers Rally on Friday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m.

We are also looking for participating churches that will promote the event and distribute flyers for their members to use as an invitation for others. This is an interdenominational event for all ages. The focus will be on Jesus Christ and His work on the cross.
