“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30, KJV.

I love seeing the word “all” or “everyone” in the Scripture when it pertains to the Gospel. The good news of Jesus Christ is for everyone—rich and poor, black and white, young and old—“…let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17, KJV.

Jesus promises REST to ALL that come to Him. No matter how great the burden, no matter how grievous the sin, no matter how big the problem, coming to Jesus is all that is required to receive rest.

Jesus came to undo the heavy burdens, not to burden us further. He came to set us free from the bondage of sin, guilt, anxiety, and fear. Religion can sometimes become another burden, a heavy yoke, a bondage for the mind and heart, but Jesus said, “My yoke is easy, my burden is light.”

Are you carrying a heavy burden today? Are you worried about a family member? A medical issue? A financial problem? Come to Jesus! Take on His yoke. In other words, let Him be Lord of every issue, every circumstance, every thought. Instead of trying to solve all your problems on your own, team up with Jesus. He will give you power to live an overcoming life. Peace and rest are His provision for you.

Don’t wait for every circumstance of your life to be perfect in order to find your peace. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33, KJV. There will always be difficulties, challenges, and obstacles, but in the midst of it all Jesus offers you peace. It comes spiritually. It comes by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says, “Come to Me!” Come to Him in prayer and find that rest for your soul today. Come to Him through His Word. As He says, “Learn of me.” Don’t just learn about me, but learn OF me. Learn the Jesus-life, the Jesus-style, the Jesus-way of handling every situation. Learn how Jesus always did those things that pleased His Father. Learn how He was not intimidated by other people’s opinions, how He was not flustered by the storms of life, how He walked in peace and victory in spite of what was going on around Him.

You can have that too. It’s the life of Christ. And it’s available for you today!
