It’s Time to “Go Forward!”
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:” Exodus 14:15, KJV.
The children of Israel were between a rock and hard place. Pharaoh was coming against them one way, seeking to bring them back in slavery. On the other side was the impassable Red Sea. Wringing their hands, they thought, “What should we do? We should have stayed in Egypt. Better to die there than in this wilderness.” In their time of trouble, they were tempted to go backwards. But God had a word for them, and He has a word for us—“Go forward!”
I want to encourage you! Maybe you are in a tough place in your journey. The enemy has been breathing down your neck seeking to bring you back into bondage and defeat. But in the midst of your trouble, God has designed a way forward for you. Look to Him and He will give you a word of deliverance. Like God said to Moses, “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:16, KJV. “Stretch forth your rod! Use your authority. I have sent you, now GO!” Moses obeyed and stretched forth his rod and God split the Red Sea.
I’m glad we serve a “go forward” God, not a stuck-in-the-mud God. When we’ve got problems, He’s got the answer. When the situation is impossible, He will make a way. Go forward! He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Often we are defeated by inactivity. We are waiting on God, but He is waiting on us. We’ve given our lives to Jesus, we read our Bibles, we pray, we go to church, and we wait…and wait and wait and wait. Folks, it’s time to get going with God!
Maybe you’re sitting passively on a promise of God. You’ve sought the Lord and prayed. You’re believing God for something. You’re inspired to do something for God. It’s time to go forward! Its time to take some action. God is activated when you are activated. Take a step. Use your authority. Go forward! You will find that God will meet you in a powerful way.
