There is an old saying, “Bread is the staff of life.” I’m not quite sure what that means but here at the Shanklin Ponderosa, bread is one of our main foundations for healthy eating. Tom called it his “secret weapon” during our weight loss project. When he was absolutely starved between meals he would eat a slice of my bread and drink a glass of water. Since Tom and I have lost over 160 pounds combined, many people have requested the recipe for this bread, so I’m going to tell you how I do it, although I cannot say how “right” it might be. Ha.
