Prayer and Healing Service Held in Mankato
In June, we held an Interdenominational Prayer and Healing Service in Mankato. This is the first time we have sponsored a service in our hometown, although we have ministered in some churches and other venues in the city. It felt good to put down an anchor and establish our presence in our own city. Mankato, like most places, is a needy city with great potential. We have a university with 10,000 students, a large immigrant population, and a lot of people who need Jesus.
I preached on “What the Bible Says About Healing” taking a biblical tour through the Old and New Testament scriptures on divine healing. We also had a time of prayer for healing for the United States and the nations of the world, and our own area, along with the local churches. We prayed for spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational healing for those present.
Three Catholic nuns from Mankato attended the service. It was also great to have the youth group from Gaylord Assembly of God attend. We prayed for the young people that God would protect them from evil and use them to minister to their generation. We found out later that one person at the service rededicated their life to Jesus Christ.
As we prayed for a woman for some needs in her life, Susan asked her how her foot was doing. Susan had previously prayed for this woman’s foot in a church service. The woman had forgotten about the foot problem. When she remembered, she said, “Oh, it’s healed!” Then another man chimed in that his foot had also been healed after prayer in a previous service. Sometimes we are not aware of the great things that God does in our lives through prayer.
