Hope for Mahnomen: A reason to hope. A time to heal.

Hope for Mahnomen: A Community Gathering Focused on Healing and Renewal
Mahnomen, MN — The community is invited to attend Hope for Mahnomen, a free two-night gathering designed to bring encouragement, healing, and unity to the region.
The event will take place at Mahnomen High School Gymnasium on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14–15, beginning at 6:30 PM each evening. All members of the community — young people, adults, and elders — are welcome.
Mahnomen Mayor Curt Uran will be the host for the two-night event, and Katie Baker of Perham will lead praise and worship.
Hope for Mahnomen will feature uplifting live music, authentic personal testimonies, and a powerful message centered on restoration and renewed purpose. Guest speaker Tom Shanklin, a minister from Scandia, Minnesota, will share his personal journey from the brokenness and hopelessness of addiction to the freedom and wholeness he found in the Creator. His story offers a message of transformation, resilience, and hope.
Tom Shanklin is no stranger to the area, having served as managing editor of the Twin Valley Times from 1981 to 1983 and ministering since that time in many churches and venues in the region, including numerous times on the White Earth Reservation.
Organizers emphasize that the gathering is for everyone, regardless of background or life experience. “No matter your story, your past does not define your future,” organizers shared. “This is a time for our community to come together, to heal, and to rediscover hope.”
The event is sponsored by community leaders, area churches, and local organizations committed to strengthening Mahnomen and supporting its residents.
The gathering is free and open to the public.
