Notes: HEALING THE BROKENHEARTED
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19, AV)
Main Thought: You can be healed of a broken heart by the anointing.
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” (Psalms 147:3, AV)
Illustration: Wounds must be bound up to heal properly. Some wound are so deep that they require a doctor. Likewise, some wounds of the heart require Dr. Jesus.
Gospel for the Whole Person.
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:4-6, AV)
The Anointing
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38, AV)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12, AV)
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8, AV)
Tom and Susan healed at pastor’s conference.
Women healed of heart at church during preaching.
There is a River
“«To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.» God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” (Psalms 46:1-5, AV)
The River is flowing your way today. Receive it, in Jesus’ name.
