Going Forward with the Gospel [Ministry Update]
The message of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection continues to be the focus of our ministry. We are convinced that this is the answer to the problems in the earth and in the heart of mankind.
Since our last report, we have had some wonderful times of ministry. In late July into early August, I was in revival meetings at Webster Chapel in Webster, North Dakota, and three days at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Devils Lake, North Dakota. The emphasis of these meetings was faith. I spoke on “Nothing is Impossible with God,” “Jesus Christ Makes You Whole,” and “Speak to Your Mountain.” Several people testified of both emotional and physical healing and many were greatly encouraged by the Word of God. We are called to minister among God’s people in all types of churches and thank God for this great privilege.
Susan and I ministered at Living Waters Community Church in Clear Lake, Minnesota (not far from where we live) in early August. I shared a word of encouragement with the church and Susan brought a message called “Don’t Hang your Harps on the Willows” from Psalm 137:2, encouraging the people to keep praising God and not be defeated during times of opposition. We were told that our ministry there was very timely. The church has been without a pastor for over a year but has nonetheless doubled in size. However, it has been very challenging to carry on the ministry without a full-time pastor.
Later in August, I traveled to Pine Point, Minnesota for a Summer Festival on the White Earth Reservation. I preached on “The Father’s House,” which also is the name of the church in Pine Point, which is led by Pastor David and Dori Bakke. People from several area churches participated in the event, which included fun and games for the children, puppet ministry, a meal with grilled hamburgers, worship, and preaching under a Gospel tent. One person came forward turn to the Lord in repentance, and many people received prayer for healing and for their ministries.
I also spoke at the Worship Barn, a country-themed church near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where I spoke on “Healing a Wounded Spirit.” The message was very well received and the front of the church was filled with people receiving prayer for various physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
I shared this message once again on the first of two nights at the Jehovah House Retreat Center near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Once again, a line of people came forward for prayer for various needs. Richard Mosch received prayer for his back. After prayer, I asked him to bend over and touch his toes, but he could not. However, he came back the next night and demonstrated that he could now touch his toes without pain.
At the Jehovah House we once again saw young people coming to the meetings with a hunger for God, with some confessing sins and receiving prayer.
On the last night, I spoke on “The Gospel of the Kingdom.” The focus of the message was that the Church needs to keep doing the real business of the kingdom—winning souls, making disciples, healing the sick, and casting out demons—and not be distracted by sideline issues.
Benin Update
Things are going well for our ministry partners in Benin, West Africa. The school year for both the Bible School and the new Vocational School is starting this month. The sewing machines, which our partners previously purchased, have now been moved to the campus at Danzounmey in preparation for the school year. Apostle Isaac Clossou reports that 10 students are enrolled in the Bible School and approximately 15 students in the Vocational School. The estimated budget for the school year for both schools is $17,500. If you would like to help with support for the school, you can donate to the Benin Schools here>>>
Thank you!!!
Thank you for your faithful support, prayers, and encouragement for this ministry. Our ministry income took a hit in August with the mix-up on the return envelopes, but we know by the grace of God we will continue to be strong and take the Gospel to the world. Please let us know how we can pray for you, and remember, “If God be for you, who can be against you!”
