INTRODUCTION TO BELIEVERS SCHOOL OF MINISTRY Mark 1:14-20
Jesus preached the Good News of the Kingdom (where the King rules and the devil is defeated). Mark 1:14
He calls us to repent (turn from our sin) and believe the Gospel. Mark 1:15
He calls us to follow Him. Mark 1:17
When we follow Him, He “makes us to become” fishers of men. Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20, Luke 24:46-49, John 20:21, Acts 1:8
I. WHO IS JESUS?
The Promised Messiah. Genesis 3:15, Genesis 12:3, Psalm 22, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 52:13-15, Isaiah 53, Isaiah 62:11, Jeremiah 23:5, Daniel 2:34,44, Daniel 7:13-14, Micah 5:2, Zechariah 9:9-11
The Savior of the world. Luke 2:11

II. WHY DID JESUS COME TO EARTH?
To save us from our sin. Matthew 1:21

To give life and life more abundantly John 10:10
To destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8
To deliver us from the fear of death. Hebrews 2:14-15
III. WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
The power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16
Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
God gave His Son that we might have eternal life. John 3:16
IV. WHY DO WE NEED THE GOSPEL?
In the beginning God created everything Gen. 1:1
The created man and woman and blessed them. Gen. 1:26-28
When God created mankind, He said they were “very good.” Genesis 1:31
Adam and Eve obeyed Satan and became separated from God. Genesis 3:1-8
Sin passed on the human race. Romans 5:12, Romans 3:10,23
V. HOW DOES THE BIBLE DESCRIBE A NON-BELIEVER?
Alienated from the life of God. Ephesians 4:18
Dead in their trespasses and sins. Ephesians 2:1
An enemy of God. Romans 5:10
Strangers from the covenant, without hope and without God. Ephesians 2:12
Blinded by Satan. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
Sinners and unrighteous. Rom 5:8, 2 Corinthians 6:14
Desperately wicked. Jeremiah 17:9
Under condemnation and the wrath of God. John 3:18, 36, Romans 1:18-19
Destined for the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

VI. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT A BELIEVER?
Born again. John 3:3, 7
A child of God. John 1:12,13
A new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17
The righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
Converted. Acts 11:21 Acts 3:19
Saved. Rom 10:9-10
Cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 9:14, 1 John 1:7-9, Hebrews 10:19
Has a personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ. John 17:3
Heaven bound. John 14:1-6
A Christian (follower of Christ) Acts 11:26
VII. HOW DOES A PERSON BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
A. Admit—By admitting your sin. Rom 3:10,23
B. Believe—By believing the Good News that Jesus died for your sins and rose again. John 3:16, Romans 1:16
C. Confess—By repenting (turning away from sin) and confessing Jesus as ruler of your life. Romans 10:9-10
VIII. CAN YOU BE SURE YOU ARE SAVED?
Through the Word of God. 1 John 5:13, 2 Timothy 3:15, Romans 10:17
By the witness of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:16, Galatians 4:6
IX. WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR TODAY?
Today is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
Pray this prayer from your heart:
Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I believe you raised Him from the dead. Forgive me of my sin. From this day, I declare that Jesus is the Lord and ruler of my life. Thank you for accepting me into your family and becoming my heavenly Father, in Jesus name. Amen
X. PRACTICAL EXERCISE
Be ready to give an answer of the hope that is in you. 1 Pet 3:15, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Prepare to share a brief testimony of your salvation experience to share with another person. Your testimony should include:
1. What your life was like before you came to Christ.
2. How you came to Christ.
3. What your life has been like since your came to Christ.
