Christ Congregational Church, Rio, WI
Last weekend I had a great time of ministry at Christ Congregational Church in Rio, WI., a church which was founded over 15o years ago. Rio is a town of less that 1,000 people located north of Madison, WI.
Pastor David and Eleen Lusse have been at the church for about 4 years, leading the flock to the promised land of God.
It’s a church with a great heritage and a wonderful old building, and today they are pressing into a fresh move of the Spirit, under the leadership of their new pastor. There is an obvious hunger for more of God in the church. New and younger families are being added to the membership and biblical truths are becoming embedded into the fabric of the church.
I had a wonderful time ministering Sunday morning on “Come Home to Your Father” based on the parable of the prodigal son. Sunday evening the message was “Knowing God” based on John 17:3:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3, KJV.
We talked about the great opportunity we have to enjoy a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe. What power and joy there is in fellowship with Him. There was a sense of God’s presence and we shared a time of prayer for needs for the people.
Pray for Christ Congregational Church and Rio, that God would continue to pour out His Spirit and draw the people unto Himself, in Jesus name.
