The Benin Schools Are Thriving!
The Mt. Moriah Bible School and Vocational High School, which we are helping to support in Benin, West Africa, is going well. Presently, there are 13 students in the Bible School and 40 in the Vocational High School. The schools function under the covering of the Messenger Church of God in Benin.
Nine girls are among the students in the Vocational High School (three girls in the Civil Engineering Program, two girls in the Electrical Engineering Program, and four girls in the Sewing Program.
Karelle (pictured here) came to Mt. Moriah from a very poor family. She had also been exposed to Muslim Voodoo (a mixture of the Muslim religion and traditional religion) in northern Benin. Her uncle brought her to the school after he received Christ in one of the churches that is part of the Messenger Church of God’s network.
After coming to the school, Karelle received Christ and has since become a cell group leader. She has also done well in her studies and will be taking a proficiency exam this year to be licensed in electrical engineering.
We are excited about what God is doing in both the Bible School and Vocational Schools. The Bible School is training ministers who will serve as pastors in rural areas in Benin. The Vocational School is training young people to service in the workplace while building a spiritual foundation of Christ in their lives.
With the help of our partners, we have been raising funds for a classroom addition for the facility at Mt. Moriah. Presently, conditions are very crowded, as there are only three classrooms. The addition will add four more much-needed classrooms.
The estimated cost of the classroom addition is $19,500. Of that amount, a total of $13,525 has already come in, and only $5,975 remains. If you would like to invest in this valuable asset for the Kingdom of God, click here.
