Another Trip to the World’s Greatest Harvest Field
By Tom Shanklin
I’m excited to share with you that I plan to return to India in November of this year, and this time Susan plans to go with me. This will not only be an awesome experience for her, but I believe it will be a great encouragement to the women of India. In many places, women are almost another underdog caste in India, so I believe Susan’s bold and compassionate ministry will have a powerful and lasting effect on the hearts of the women and the attitudes of men toward them.
I often say that India is the world’s greatest harvest field. With nearly 1.3 billion people of which officially less than 3 percent are Christian, and more unreached people groups than any nation of the world, the harvest truly is ripe in India. Although the persecution of Christians has increased in recent months, the Church is thriving and reaching many for Christ. We want to be a help in the harvest and be an encouragement to the workers.
On this trip, we will be working in villages in the region around Hyderabad. We will be co-laboring with two ministries—Calvary Commission India (who we have worked with on all of our previous trips to India) and Bible Living Ministries (who we have worked with previously in Nepal).
Our focus will once again be training leaders and reaching the lost through evangelistic meetings. I love this work, and I thank God for the fruit we have seen from it. On our last trip to India, 20 families were added to a local church after we left. We also saw many miraculous healings and a great spirit of encouragement among the leaders. I expect that by the grace of God we will see much more this time.
As part of this outreach, we have already begun a translation of my book, “You Can Touch the World,” into Telugu, one of the major languages of India. The book has proven to be a catalyst for evangelistic action, especially among leaders on the foreign field. We have received reports of pastors using it for evangelistic training in Nepal as well as in Africa.
I would like to ask for your prayers as we begin preparation for this mission. And if you would like to invest in the world’s greatest mission field, you can Click here to Donate to Mission India 2015. I am estimating the cost of this mission at approximately $15,000, including travel expenses, conference and crusade costs, and book printing. Please agree with me that our God will supply all the needs abundantly above all that we can ask or think.
The Best is Yet to Come!
Every day Susan and I pray for one another, our family, our ministry partners, and the nations of the world. We are praying for God’s very best for you, that He would open up the horizons in your life to see the great plan He has for you. We pray that you would apprehend His love and walk in the light of it and that it would pervade every aspect of your existence. As God’s love and power overtakes you, the lives around you will be touched and many will come to know Jesus in a real and tangible way.
Thank you for your friendship, partnership, prayers and encouragement. You are blessed and the best is yet to come!

Cool, Very Cool!
Thank you Tom, I read your message about “Don’t Build Your House on Poles.” Good message and I can’t believe you built it all with hand tools. Cool, very cool. I was a bit of a hippie too and would probably have loved it, but I am surprised you two did not freeze to death. (Minnesota)
Healing is for Today!
Just love your monthly communications. I look forward to receiving it every month. If anyone doubts healing is for today, they need a copy of your reports. You were created for this time and this generation. Thank God you answered the call.

So Glad I’m Changed!
I will be taking part in Love Minneapolis this next week and going out on six outreaches. I was touched and challenged by your book, but never thought I would be doing this. Sooo glad I am. Changed forever. Saved at 18 and now 61, so it’s time to get off the dime and move forward. (Minnesota)
