Celebrate the Resurrection

“And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33, KJV.

There is abundant historical evidence that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. I believe anyone who takes an honest look at the historical facts will conclude that He is risen.

But even without the 500 brethren who saw Him and the testimony of the historian Josephus and more, I can tell you for a fact that Jesus is alive … by the things He has done in my life.

First, I know He is alive by the miracles I have seen in other people’s lives, starting with my friend who was healed of a deformed heart. God used that miracle to get my attention and turn my heart towards Him.

Then, I know He is alive by the change that Jesus wrought in my life. He did what no man or psychologist could. He completely delivered me and set me free. One moment I was bound with drugs and alcohol and the bondage of guilt and sin. But when I said “Yes” to Jesus, in a moment of time, He set me completely free.

And finally, I know He is alive by the multitude of miracles that I have seen when we have prayed for others. A woman with arthritis delivered from pain. A man whose flesh had been ripped off his leg delivered from pain by the power of God. A man with a tumor in His colon which shriveled after prayer. Heart problems healed. Deaf ears opened. Lame people walk. Tumors dissolve. Miracle births. Sleep restored. And many, many people receiving the greatest miracle of all, the new birth.
We could go on and on, but the point is: “Jesus IS alive!” Glory to God!
With great power the apostles gave witness that Jesus is alive! God answered their prayer to stretch forth His hand in the name of His holy child Jesus and wrought mighty miracles which gave amply proof to the resurrection of Christ.
As a Christian, your life is proof that Jesus is alive! Live it with exuberance. Live it in the fire of the Holy Spirit. Expect the living Christ to do just what He said He would do in your life, manifest Himself to you by the Holy Spirit.
Let us believe God for more miracles than at any time in our lives. Let us preach the Good News, and as God moves with signs and wonders, let us lead many to the saving knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ!
Pray for somebody today and expect a miracle!
